The Scott Harrison Story, is a project in response to an audio narrative about Scott Harrison's transformation from the 90s club scene in New York into his new life after founding Charity: Water. Completely changing his perspective on life and what's important. I began by researching his story and gathering visual references to represent each stage of his life of his journey. I then explored a range of mixed media processes including collage, charcoal, ink, texture-building, and image transferring using gesso and PVA. I focused on how materials choices could communicate atmosphere and emotion. To develop my final compositions, and planned layouts digitally in photoshop before printing and constructing the pages by hand. Using layering to create depth and visual hierarchy. The final outcome is a handmade, diary-like collaged sketchbook that presents the narrative chronologically, using imagery, texture, and selected quotes to clearly show the contrast between Harrison's transformation.
